An embodied one-on-one ceremony for moments that ask to be marked, moved through, or met differently.
Some experiences ask for more than understanding. It may be a transition you want to consciously cross, an ending that has not quite become an ending yet, a choice you want to stand behind, or something that has remained stuck despite everything you already know about it. Sometimes there is no clear event at all, only a feeling that something is ready to shift. A quieter knowing: this wants ceremony.
The Inner Threshold is a private one-on-one ceremony in Nijmegen: a few hours set apart from ordinary life to meet what is moving on a deeper embodied, symbolic and energetic level.
It can be a way to mark a significant moment, such as an anniversary, loss, beginning or transition. It can also offer a different entrance when thinking and talking have brought you far, but something in the body or deeper layers of experience has not moved with them. Rather than another session within everyday life, I think of The Inner Threshold as a small individual retreat.
An intention, not a predetermined outcome
Before the ceremony, we clarify an intention together. I think of this as aiming the arrow: establishing the direction in which you want to move without deciding beforehand exactly where you need to arrive. During the ceremony, we follow the paths that present themselves in relation to that intention. This means the work is not linear. We can prepare, listen, make choices and do the footwork, but we cannot dictate what becomes available once we enter the process. Sometimes what emerges confirms what you already sensed. Sometimes something entirely different asks for your attention. The ceremony creates conditions in which those less conscious layers can become more perceptible, and in which what appears can be met with time, attention and meaning.
How we work
The ceremony begins by deliberately entering a ritualised space. Stepping outside the rhythms of ordinary life is part of the work itself. Through attention, intention and ritual, an experience can be encountered differently than it might be in an ordinary conversation. Each Inner Threshold takes its own form. Depending on you, your intention and what emerges, I may work with:
- breath and embodied awareness
- music, sound and voice
- movement and non-verbal exploration
- ritual and symbolic acts
- impulse play
- constellation work
- cacao or herbal infusions
- conversation, reflection and silence
These are possibilities rather than a programme. We do not include something because a ceremony is supposed to look a certain way. I choose and offer interventions in response to what is present, and we remain in relationship with your boundaries and capacity throughout.
Practical structure
The Inner Threshold is designed as a stand-alone journey, with preparation and integration held around the ceremony itself.
- You reach out with some context about what draws you to this work
- I send you a short questionnaire to begin clarifying the intention
- We shape the intention, or arrow, for the ceremony
- We reserve a 3.5-hour ceremonial container at Cordium in Nijmegen
- We enter the ceremony and work intuitively with what presents itself
- We close with space for landing and initial integration
- Afterwards, we have a 15-minute integration call for what needed more time to settle and to sense whether any further support, with me or elsewhere, would be useful
The total investment is €440, including preparation, the ceremony itself and the integration call.
The Inner Threshold is offered by appointment in Nijmegen at my home venue “Cordium“. If you feel drawn to this work, you are welcome to send me a message through Hipsy. with some context about what is asking for ceremony. If you are looking for a more flexible form of support, without stepping into a ceremonial container, you may prefer Individual Guidance Sessions. These can stand on their own or become a space you return to over time.
